Privacy Policy
Kitchen Chaos is an indie game by JAZZKONNEN LLC. It is free to play and paid for by ads and optional purchases. There is no account to make and no sign-in. We never sell your data, and this page names every service that handles it.
Your progress
Your levels, stars, coins, boosters and restaurant are saved on your iPhone. A copy is kept in iCloud under your own Apple Account, so it comes back on a new phone. We never see that copy; Apple stores it under Apple's privacy policy.
Analytics and session replay
We use PostHog to learn how the game is played and where it is too hard or too easy. The app sends events such as a level started, finished or failed, a booster used, an offer shown and a purchase made, along with your progress (levels cleared, stars, coins) and basic device details: the iPhone model, the iOS version, the app version, language and time zone. They carry a random identifier made on your phone, never your name or your email address. PostHog uses your IP address to estimate a country and city, and stores this data in the United States.
The app also sends crash and error reports to PostHog, so we can fix what broke.
Session replay. The app records what happens on screen while you play, such as taps and screen changes, so we can watch where players get stuck. Anything typed into a text field is hidden before it leaves your phone. Recordings carry the same random identifier as the events and are deleted after 30 days.
Advertising
Kitchen Chaos shows ads from Google AdMob, including rewarded ads you can choose to watch for a bonus. AdMob may fill an ad through other ad networks it works with. To serve and measure ads, these services may collect your IP address, device information and how you interact with an ad, under Google's privacy policy and each network's own.
Where the law requires it, the app first asks for your consent to personalized ads. The app also shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared with our ad and measurement partners. If you don't, it is not, and the game works the same either way. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Buying Chef's Club removes ads.
Install measurement
When we advertise Kitchen Chaos, Tenjin tells us which ad led to an install. The app sends Tenjin the install, each time the app is opened, a few milestones (finishing the tutorial, finishing a level) and purchases with their price. Tenjin receives your IP address and device details, and the advertising identifier only if you allowed tracking. Tenjin passes conversions on to the ad network that ran the ad, such as Meta or TikTok, so it can measure the campaign. Apple's own privacy-preserving measurement (SKAdNetwork) is also used.
Purchases
Coin packs, the starter pack and Chef's Club are bought through Apple. Apple handles payment; we never see your card or your Apple Account details, only that a purchase went through.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, the game schedules reminders on your phone, such as your daily streak being ready. It also saves a push address for your phone with PostHog, so we can send occasional news to everyone who opted in, through Expo's push service and Apple's. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings → Kitchen Chaos → Notifications.
What we don't do
- No sale of your personal data
- No account, no sign-in, no name and no email address
- No advertising identifier unless you allow tracking
- No contacts, photos, location services, camera or microphone
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes the progress on your phone. To remove the iCloud copy too, go to Settings → your name → iCloud and manage the app's storage. To have your analytics, recordings and push address deleted, email us from the support page; tell us roughly when you played and we'll find them.
Children
Kitchen Chaos is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the game and want their data removed, contact us.
This website
playkitchenchaos.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ad pixels. Like any website, our host, Cloudflare, sees your IP address in order to deliver the page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
